# Career Paths in Data

Many of our [SouthHills](https://www.southhills.edu) students and graduates find themselves working with data at their internships and first jobs. They might be doing things like:

* adding data to an **IT ticketing system** as they solve problems at the **technology help desk**
* creating a new **database** from scratch, so the new program they are creating can store data to effectively solve a business problem
* working with **low-code solutions** that use data to **automate** business workflows
* manipulating and creating graphs in **Excel** or other **data tools**
* moving data in the **cloud** and performing regular **database backups**
* writing **information security policies** to protect the data in their organization
